Summer Drama Program

The Neuse Little Theatre Summer Camp was established in 2005 to address the community’s need for education in theatrical arts, both onstage and backstage. Ruth Mills led the camp from its inception until 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the camp in 2020 and 2021. During this period, Ruth retired to the mountains. Patsy Castellano, who had been Ruth’s longtime assistant, succeeded her as the camp director. The program continues to develop, with the goal of educating future theatre professionals.

Summer Camp 2026 was offered to last year’s campers first and it is already full. We are pleased to announce that there will be a summer camp at Johnston Community College, and we are working with them to plan a second camp for the young people in the area. However, we do not have any information about the JCC plans as of yet, but we will give more information as soon as we get it. We hate that we filled up so quickly (before January was over) but we are trying to plan for the future and find ways to make theater and camps more accessible to more people in the future.
