Rough is\nconvinced that Mr. Manningham is a homicidal\nmaniac wanted for a murder committed fifteen\nyears earlier in this very house. Gradually\, the\ninspector restores Bella’s confidence in herself\nand\, as the evidence against Manningham\nunfolds\, building and sustaining some of the most\nbrilliant\, suspenseful sequences in modern\ntheatre.
